Shawn was born into a life of music on November 15, 1985 in Greenville, Texas. He spent his childhood growing up in the small town of Quinlan, the kind of place where more people know what you’ve done than you know yourself.
His father played with local bands in area honky-tonks and clubs. He taught Shawn the basics of music as a child. At the age of ten, Shawn's parents separated and Shawn moved to Haughton, a five minute drive from Shreveport.
Turning within himself and using music as therapy, he began teaching himself to write and play. From his past experiences, he began to pen song after song that appealed to listeners, not through cheesy clichés, but with honest lyrics dealing with the realities of life and touching ones heart. Soon after, he began showcasing and talking with record labels, playing everywhere he could and for all who would listen.
From stage to stage is where Shawn feels most at home.
Ever since he has been able to walk, Shawn has wanted to sing and perform. He likes to think that the music he creates and the atmosphere he incorporates helps people in some way. He prides himself on giving energetic and electrifying performances as well as being a talented writer. For him a great song is not only an amazing tune or killer riff, but it encompasses the whole emotion that surrounds the story, whether it is happy or sad. If it makes you stop in your tracks and look to the stage it’s done its job.
